‘Spot light on a Song’
Happy Summer music fans! It’s been a few weeks as I’ve been busy making new music myself! But it is officially Summertime and boy is it moving fast.
Today’s ‘Spot light’ is a very special song to me. It represents my home for almost two decades. One I moved away from 3 years ago to my new love, Seattle. And while I embark on my anual visit, today I pay homage to a place that gave me a lifetime.
‘Lake Shore Drive’ is a song which paints an accurate musical picture of living and driving in downtown Chicago. It was written by Skip Haynes and sang by Aliotta-Haynes-Jeremiah, an American rock group from the early 1970s. And although they are considered a one-hit wonder, this song is iconic to Chicago and all who know and love it.
And even though I traded in ‘concrete mountains’ for real ones, a part of me and my heart will always be here in Chicago. And the memories I still carry running on that fine Great Lake.
Enjoy this little gem and get out for a walk or a long drive.
Strum a little….
