‘Spot light on a Song’
Happy Friday Music fans! Listen to any good music this week? Well tomorrow this cray cray songwriter is running 13 miles for my annual half marathon run! So I’ve been gathering my best and most inspirational songs together for the big day. I threw in an old mix playlist of mine and this sweet little song came on reminding me about this amazing musician: Mark Oliver Everett— AKA The EELS.
This American alternative rock band, formed in California in 1995 was better known as “E” and the son of famous physicist Hugh Everett III. Band members have changed across the years, both in the studio and on stage, making Everett the only official member for most of the band’s work. Everett’s songs are often filled with themes about family, death and lost love, and straddles a wide range of genres, which is evidenced by the distinct musical style of every album.
Since 1996, Eels has made eleven major studio releases. That’s right—ELEVEN ALBUMS! I don’t know about you but I’ve only made one and that was a major endeavor. Whew! Inspirational.
So get outside and take a deep breath in because Spring has sprung…(or will real soon!) and life is just waiting for you to live it. Enjoy!!
Strum a little…
