‘Spot light on a Song’
Hold onto your seats music fans! Today’s ‘Spot light on a Song’ is a poppy, doo-woppy, dancin’, can’t get it out of my head wonder!
And the girl (or magic I should say) behind this little gold nugget is Meghan Trainor.
A mere babe of 20 raised in Nantucket, MA and writing songs since she was 11 years old, started a band with her family. When she was 13, her parents bought her a computer so that she could compose her own songs. No shortage of talent or motivation here fans! She’s been a professional songwriter already for 2 years and resides amongst the best of the best in the business, little ole’ Nashville.
Meghan’s “All About That Bass” made chart history by becoming the first act to officially enter the Official Singles Chart Top 40 based on streams alone! This song is infectious! It is pop-rap with soul-groovin’ charm while capturing THE era I still call my favorite. The message is 100% authentic which is why I will excuse the PG-13 content and happily sing (and dance) to it with my own kids. Watch it and love it. And AMEN to roll models like Meghan: who accept and love themselves!
Strum a little….
